Gran Turismo Sport Cuts Weather & Time of Day

Gran Turismo Sport has been confirmed to not feature weather or dynamic time of day due to performance reasons.

Gran Turismo 6 ??on the Playstation 3 was the first Gran Turismo title to ever offer dynamic time of day racing and weather, adding two often-requested features to the series.

Now, it’s confirmed that the franchise has lost this set of features again as Gran Turismo Sport for the Playstation 4 will feature neither weather or changeable time of day. While players will be set to dry racing conditions, there will be an option to choose different times of day to race on, conditions will remain set though has there will be no transitions through the time of day, regardless of how long you race.

???We opted to not have the transitions in the race this time in order to raise the framerate and the quality of the image *during* the race. So the user will be able to set that before they enter the race. So you???ll still be able to have night races, morning, races at dawn, dusk, and so on, ” Kazunori Yamauchi commented to??GTPlanet.

Cutting both features will allow Polyphony Digital to increase the title’s grid sizes though as Gran Turismo Sport will be the first GT title to over 20-car grids.

Gran Turismo Sport will feature 130+ cars, all of which have been built from the ground up as the studio is ditching their controversial standard-car practice of past GT titles.

Furthermore, GT Sport will also 19 different tracks, among them N??rburgring Nordschleife, Brands Hatch, Willow Springs and the new Tokyo Expressway have been confirmed.

The title will be exclusively available for the Playstation 4 starting November 15 (US) and November 18 (Europe) respectively and can be??pre-ordered here.
