Turn 10 Studios have released a first video trailer of their new Forza Motorsport title.
Omitting the “8”in the title that would indicate it being the eight installment of the Forza Motorsport franchise, is aiming to be a reboot to the Forza Motorsport franchise that has been a long-running rival to Sony’s Gran Turismo series on Playstation, the last installment of which was announced earlier this year.
Curiously, there’s a few similarities in the launch trailers as like the GT7 trailer, the first look at Forza Motorsport starts out in a detailed garage scene, allowing the title to show off some of its graphical prowess.
Like Gran Turismo 7, the big technical addition coming to this new generation is raytracing as Turn 10 promises 4k resolution graphics at 60 frames per second. There’s some gameplay footage in the trailer, labeled in a somewhat strange way – “In-engine footage” instead of the more common term “In-Game”.
Unlike Gran Turismo 7, Forza Motorsport will not be confined to next-gen consoles as the Xbox Series X release will be accompanied by a version for Windows PCs as well. When that will be is currently not specified as no release date has been revealed.
