Polyphony Digital has released the 2015 Nissan Nismo GT-R LM LMP1 car in Gran Turismo 6.
The innovative Nismo GT-R LM made its public on-track debut at the Le Mans test day on Sunday and it is no surprise to see Gran Turismo being the first title to feature a virtual version of the car, given the title’s close association with the Japanese brand.
Powered by a three-liter V6 engine and a 2 megajoules hybrid system, the Nismo GT-R LM utilizes an unusual front-mid engine layout, making Nissan the only manufacturer in LMP1 to use this technical approach. The car is driven by several winners of Nissan’s & Polyphony Digital’s GT Academy, including Lucas Ordonez & Jann Mardenborough as well as veteran race car drivers like Michael Krumm & Olivier Pla.
While the real-life car still has to prove that it’s innovative concept will lead to on track success (the Nissan was lapping slower than LMP2 cars at the test), gamers??can now experience the car themselves by downloading the new free Gran Turismo 6 update.
Furthermore, the Nismo GT-R LM will also be used in the final qualifying round of the 2015 Nissan GT Academy competition.
