BMW Motorsport Launches M4 GT4 Livery Contest

BMW Motorsport has launched an official sim racing livery contest based on the virtual iRacing version of their BMW M4 GT4 car.

Dubbed “The Fusion Of Real World and Sim Racing”, the competition invites all livery artists in the sim racing community to create a livery for the M4 GT4, with the winning design not only being made available on iRacing but also put on a real-life BMW M4 GT4 race car during the final round of the 2020 DTM GT4 Trophy race in Hockenheim in November.

While the contest is based on the iRacing version of the car, entrants don’t necessarily have to be iRacing members as BMW is offering the download of the required template files to everyone interested.

The winning design will be picked by a jury consisting of BMW’s Michael Scully, BMW works driver Bruno Spengler and artist Cao Fei, creator of the BMW M6 GT3 Art Car Design.

The creator of the best design will not just have the honor of his livery being used in real life as a serious cash prize is also involved. While the winner will receive $3000, the runner up and third place can look forward to $2000 and $1000 respectively.

The competition is open for entrants until August 5, all the required info and template files can be found here.
