Take A Tour of Sophia Flörschs New Simulator

Formula 3 racer Sophia Flörsch has released a video giving us an extensive look at her home racing setup.

Like many young race car drivers, Sophia relies quite heavily on sim racing for her preparation and training, something that got even more important during the stoppage of racing during the Covid-19 pandemic.

With real racing having resumed, Sophia is back in action in the FIA Formula 3 series, she will also race in the European Le Mans Series and the Le Mans 24 Hours alongside fellow female racers Tatiana Calderon & Katherine Legge.

Following a spectacular shunt during the 2018 Formula 3 race in Macau she survived with back injuries that created a lot of media exposure, Sophia has become perhaps the most visible female race car driver right now, helped by her being very savvy about marketing herself on social media. She’s far from the only female driver to do sim racing though.

While the W Series launched it’s official all-women eSports league earlier this year, W Series runner-up and BMW works driver Beitske Visser is quite an accomplished sim racer as well, regularly competing in sim racing events on behalf of BMW as well.
