W Series, the first female-only Formula Series, who completed a successful maiden season in support of the German DTM series in 2019, is branching out to the virtual world, officially launching the W Series eSports League.
Partnerin with Logitech, the series will use iRacing to hold an official W Series online racing competition that will include the full field of 2020 W Series drivers as participants, including 2019 champion Jamie Chadwick & runner-up Beitske Visser.
Aside from their success in W Series last year, Chadwick & Visser have been moving up the ranks in the racing world quickly. While the young Briton joined the Williams Formula One team as development driver, Beitske Visser has been selected as BMW Motorsport as Junior works driver. Both drivers have plenty of sim racing experience in their spare time so expect them to be among the front runners in the virtual series as well.
Last year, both even attempted to run a few blindfolded laps in F1 2019..with somewhat mixed results ????
The following drivers are confirmed to join a schedule that will include ten different tracks, the competition will run different race formats and lengths, using iRacing’s Tatuus Formula Renault 2.0 open wheeler that is fairly similar to the Tatuus-built F3 race car used in the real W Series.

Alongside these drivers the W Series eSports League will award wild card spots to drivers not competing in the real-life series, naturally all additionally selected drivers will be female as well.
