Remember that when Fanatec first announced their BMW M3 GT2 steering wheel rim, they showed the rim to be working on an actual BMW race car thanks to the industry-standard quick change mechanism.
Now, PARAVAN have taken the idea of using Fanatec hardware to steer race cars even further, using the company’s hardware to show??their Space Drive steer-by-wire technology in action.
In the video below, you can see an actual real-life race car being driven by using a Fanatec CSW setup that is connected to PARAVAN’s steer-by-wire system. The flexibility of the system is demonstrated by making a quick change of the car’s driver side, something that would obviously be utterly impossible with a traditional steering setup.
