When I started the site, I had a screenshot page in mind and picked the theme accordingly. With the site getting more and more popular, the old theme proved to be too small in many ways – not mentioning the rather basic look.
That’s why I decided its time for something fresher, bigger and prettier to look at. The content stays the same: pure sim racing news, downloads and screenshots.
Togheter with the new look, the site has gotten a few new features which are described below. I hope you enjoy the new look, I´m looking forward to read your opinion 🙂
Improved Readability
The new font is a little bigger and should be even easier to read. The big advertisement has been moved to the right so no ads will be disrupting the reading-flow in the main frame.
New Comment Features
Commenting will be much more comfortable and better in the future. You can now use smilies when writing comments and you can choose to get notified as soon as a follow-up reply has been posted on your comment. You can also stay up to date with all new comments by subscribing to the comments rss-feed.
Better Bookmarking
With the new “bookmark” button under each post, you can easily add a posting to your favorites or almost every social network/bookmark site imaginable.
Improved Performance
The new theme and a few other tweaks should make surfing VirtualR.net a lot quicker, minimising loading times.
