Volvo and Simbin have released Volvo – The Game, a free driving simulation containing various Volvo cars that can be raced on two tracks.
Despite being free, Volvo – The Game offers a rich choice of cars as players can get their hands on some of the most famous racing cars in Volvo’s history. Among modern STCC touring cars such as the C30 and the S60, the game includes the BTCC-proven Volvo S40 and two real legends – The 850 and the 240. While the 850 estate is probably the most famous station wagon in racing history, the 240 is a powerful, turbo-powered Group A touring car.
If you??re more into road cars, you??ll like the brand new S60 concept sedan that is also available as fictional racing version. The choice of tracks includes the Gothenburg Eco Arena, a tight and twisty street circuit located in the city’s harbour area. Hosting an annual STCC event, this track is made with door-to-door touring car racing in mind. The other track is Chakya, a Ukrainian road course that should be new to most sim racers as it hasn’t hosted any international events before. The 4.1 kilometer track certainly deserves some mainstream attention though as the layout is quite challenging.
All this is wrapped-up in typical Simbin-style menus, if you??ve ever used any Simbin title you??ll feel right at home. Settings, physics and force feedback are as extensive as in any commercial Simbin title, game modes include time attack, single races and multiplayer.
