Valve, creators of the hugely successful Steam gaming platform, have revealed their newest product – Steam OS.
Based on Linux, Steam OS is an operating system tailored towards living-room machines as Valve is aiming to bring the Steam experience onto the big screen.
One of the OS’ major features is the ability to stream PC & Mac games from the traditional machine onto the living room device for use on the big screen.
Ever since Simbin made the switch to Steam for the first RACE title, Steam has become a major player in the sim racing industry as most major titles are either available for Steam or planned to be so, including Project CARS, iRacing, Assetto Corsa and Simbin’s various titles.
With that in mind, it will be exciting to see how the new Steam OS will fit into sim racing.
