SRT – Fanatec Gamescom Interview

The guys over at InsideSimRacing.tv have released the next part of their Gamescom 2011 coverage as Andreas Nie sat down with Fanatec’s Thomas Jackermeier for a quite extensive interview.

The interview mainly centers around Fanatec’s upcoming ClubSport Elite Wheel that will bring simulation-grade hardware to the Xbox 360. Unlike the ClubSport Wheel base that is aimed primarily at PC gamers, the Elite version had to sacrifice some features for the sake of console compatibility, giving it the advantage of being the only upper market wheel to be compatible to all three major systems though.

Even though the Elite version does not come with the quick-release mechanism of the ClubSport base, Thomas shows off that Elite owners will still be able to replace the wheel rim, albeit with a little less comfort and choice of rims involved.

The video also includes some new footage of the custom-made Audi A1 Clubsport Quattro wheel that was shown off at the VW & Audi W??rthersee meeting back in June, the first public appearance of the ClubSport Wheel base.
