The Race All Star Serie really has a knack for getting drivers who aren’t traditionally part of the eSports or sim racing world like many of their younger colleagues.
Two weeks ago, the series welcomed Sebastian Vettel for his first online sim racing event and last weekend’s race saw another highly popular first time driver join the field: Fernando Alonso.
The two time F1 champion and winner of the Le Mans 24 Hours is gunning to win his first Indy 500 later this year as well as being poised to rejoin Formula One next season, until Covid-19 permits real on-track activity Alonso has opted to stay sharp in the virtual world as well.
You can watch some highlights of his sim racing debut above as Fernando Alonso raced in the historic Brabham BT44B Formula One at Zandvoort in rFactor 2, including a few impressive passes and a run-in with fellow World Champion Petter Solberg!
