Studio 397 and the Automobile Club L’Ouest, organizers of the Le Mans 24 Hours, have announced an upcoming virtual version of the legendary event, scheduled for June 13-14.
While the real life Le Mans 24 Hours have been pushed to September due to Covid-19, fans will be able to watch the first-ever virtual edition of the race in its traditional mid-June spot.
The event will see a mix of professional race car drivers and eSports specialists compete, parts of the 24 Hour event will be broadcast on TV as well.
One can only imagine how much of a big deal this partnership is for Studio 397, given the studio itself is named after an iconic Le Mans 24 Hours stat – The most laps run in the legendary 24 Hour race.
To celebrate the new partnership, Studio 397 has a surprise in store as well, revealing that Ferrari will soon join the list of manufacturers represented in game. The Ferrari 488 GT3 is due to join rFactor 2 with an upcoming Le Mans content pack – Stay tuned for more!
