Project CARS – Ruf CTR3 SMS-R Unveiled

Slightly Mad Studios have officially unveiled the Ruf CTR3 SMS-R, an exclusive Ruf race car only available in the WMD-powered title.

Slightly Mad Studios have officially unveiled the Ruf CTR3 SMS-R, an exclusive Ruf race car only available in the WMD-powered title.

Based on the Ruf CTR3 sports car, the CTR3 SMS-R has been turned into a fully-fledged track racing machine in the capable hands of Slightly Mad Studios’ vehicle design team.

“We wanted the bodywork to reflect our idea of what Ruf would really do if they were to make a track-only version of the CTR3, very much like what Pagani did with the Zonda R”, Vehicle Lead Casey Ringley explained.”As a result, none of the bodywork is excessively extreme and it takes a lot of cues from modern GT3 class cars: dive planes at the front, swan neck rear wing, aggressive diffuser and other little details that are normal for a car that is honed to perform on the track.”

Vehicle Manager Jan Frischkorn added: “We also stripped the interior and added other racing equipment such as racing slicks in order to get it track-ready.”

Weighing 270 kilograms less than the road-going version, the CTR3 SMS-R is powered by a??767hp engine, providing 980Nm of torque. Inside Project CARS, the car will meet competition from other track-ready supercars like the Gumpert Apollo and the Pagani Zonda R.

The exclusive CTR3 SMS-R will only be available in Project CARS’ Limited Edition & Digital Edition, being part of the Modified Car Pack that is included in both versions.

Project CARS??will be available for the PC, Sony Playstation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One starting April 2nd, coming both as standard edition as well as being available as??Limited Edition with additional goodies & content.

Project CARS will be sold both as boxed copies available at your favorite retailers as well as via digital distribution on Steam.??More info can be found on the Project CARS website.
