Need for Speed Shift – New Previews & In-Game Advertising

Several new Need for Speed Shift previews are available, including a new gameplay video and a set of cockpit tuning screenshots.

The nine-minute gameplay video shows several cars in action, sadly dubbed with quite annoying?? music. The screenshots are a series of before-after shots, showing how the cockpit of a car changes as you turn it from stock condition into a racing machine. Changes include an installed roll cage, new steering wheel an new gauges.

In related news, Gamasutra.com reports that EA has closed a deal with advertising firm Massive that includes?? in-game advertisement in Need for Speed Shift. As seen in the previews, the tracks in Shift have been equipped with lots of fictional advertisement boards, apparently put there for a reason. The in-game advertising will be limited to the Xbox 360 and PC versions of Shift though.

Developed by Slightly Mad Studios (former Blimey! Games) and distributed by EA, Need for Speed Shift will be released on September 15th (North America) & 17th (Europe) for the PC and all major consoles. A demo of Shift is expected to be released any day now.
