Here’s a fun thing for all you Need for Speed Shift fans who want to get their Shift fix everywhere they go – The Need for Speed Shift iPhone app.
Available for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, the game includes 20 different cars from road-going machinery to full blown race cars that can be driven on a bunch of street circuits.
The car is steered tilting the iPhone in the desired direction, the game automatically accelerates and allows you to brake by tapping the screens. What sounds kind of goofy works out pretty well, keep in mind that this is an arcade game though as the driving can’t be considered to be realistic in any way.
The most interesting thing about the game is the fact that it bares close resemblance to the PC and console versions of Shift, including the showroom, the points bar on the top of the screen and the driver profiles – Need for Speed Shift users will feel right at home in the mobile version. The game is now available in the Apple App store, selling for $9.99, below is a video of the title in action.
