German PC gaming magazine Gamestar has released a quite extensive video review of Slightly Mad Studios’ upcoming Need for Speed Shift 2 title.
The video is narrated in German, it does feature over seven minutes of new gameplay footage though. In a nutshell, the reviewer praises Shift 2 for being realistic and challenging, claiming that even with all assists on the title does not get as arcade as other Need for Speed titles.
The review also mentions improved AI and tuning options, keep in mind though that Gamestar (like most mainstream gaming magazines) is not reviewing title’s from a simulation perspective so their praise in terms of realism should always be taken with a grain of salt.
Furthermore, a new video of raw gameplay footage is available, showing the elite handling model driven with a steering wheel at Monza.
Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed will include the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship & GT3 European Championship among lots of other racing content, new features include a new helmet camera, night racing and more realistic physics. The second Shift title will be available for the PC, Microsoft???s Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 in late March.
