Audi Team Abt’s Martin Tomczyk was given the chance to turn some laps on the Nürburgring Nordschleife prior to the anual Nürburgring DTM round. Tomczyk completed several laps in the 2007 Audi A4 DTM car, being the first DTM driver on the Nordschleife since the series stopped racing on the classical track in 1992. Tomczyk clocked in a 9:02 minute laptime on the combination of GP track and Nordschleife, being awfully impressed afterwards.
“It was just a hell of a ride,” Tomczyk commented after his run. “Even though I was pretty cautious at some spots, those laps were some of the most exciting minutes in my life.”
