Pixsim Modding, creators of the Nogaro track for rFactor 2, have announced a new modding project and it’s a big one: Charade.
The team is working on bringing on of the most legendary historical racing tracks to the simulation, helped by laser-scanned data to create a true rendition of this legendary track.
Also known as the Circuit Clermont-Ferrand, Charade has hosted four editions of the French Grand Prix between 1965 and 1972 and also served as a filming location for the movie Grand Prix. Back in 1989, the nine kilometer circuit was shortened to four kilometers and has served as testing and racing school venue ever since.
Despite playing no role in professional motor sports anymore, the track is still famous for bearing close resemblance to the N??rburgring Nordschleife in terms of challenge for the drivers.
The virtual version of Charade will come with two layouts, one dating back to the last Formula One Grand Prix 1972 and a fictional version of the original 8km layout as if this legendary track was still operational.
