rFactor 2’s popularity has often been discussed, partly due to modding for the new platform not taken off the way many people expected as many big time rFactor modding teams have not (yet) made the jump to the new platform.
ISI’s newest title is facing a vastly different landscape than its predecessor though as rF2 has to deal with competition that simply did not exist 6-7?? years ago, including Assetto Corsa, Game Stock Car, iRacing and Project CARS as well as several Simbin titles.
Furthermore, ISI has also changed their own approach, constantly releasing licensed quality content for rFactor 2 in a variety that wasn’t available for rFactor.
