iRacing.com – First Long Beach Preview Video

iRacing has released a first preview video of the Long Beach Grand Prix track.

iRacing has released a first preview video of the Long Beach Grand Prix track.

As you can see in the video below, the track is not finished in terms of trackside objects, causing iRacing to go a new route: The track will be released as “Tech Track” in its unfinished state, selling for a reduced price of $5.

Long Beach was actually among the first tracks that were announced for iRacing, the Californian street racing venue was laser-scanned three years ago and had been in the pipeline ever since.

While iRacing has released a wide variety of tracks in the meantime, Long Beach is the first street circuit in iRacing and the first time the developers have to deal with such a mass of trackside objects.

Located in downtown Long Beach, California, the 1,9 mile street course is the most important non-oval track in the United States, attendance at Grand Prix weekends regularly exceeds 200.000 visitors. The track has hosted Formula One and Champ Cars in the past and is now an Indycar and American Le Mans Series venue.
