iRacing has announced a quite significant new addition to their online racing competition – Time trials.
Until now, competition in iRacing was limited to online racing against other drivers. While players were always free to practice with any car and track they own, the lap times achieved there would not count towards their iRacing career.
This changes now as iRacing is introducing a new Time Trial mode that will follow their usual season structure, allowing subscribers to fight for the fastest time in hot-lap type time trial events.
Unlike races against other cars, the time trials come both without iRacing licensing restrictions and will not affect the player’s Driver Rating either.
