Polyphony Digital and Nissan have released the Gran Turismo 5 GT Academy Demo, giving all Playstation 3 owners a chance to fight for a fully-paid racing season in the FIA GT4 championship.
The demo includes the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course and Nissan’s 370Z sports car in stock and tuning trim. The only mode available is time trials, as all drivers have the chance to prove they have what it takes to be in the GT Academy. the quickest drivers will advance into the semi-finals and might move on to the actual GT Academy meeting in Silverstone next March where the quickest driver will be getting the drive with RJN Motorsports in the 2010 FIA GT4 season.
All drivers from most European countries, Australia & New Zealand that have never held a racing license are eligible to compete. American racers can’t be invited to the GT Academy, the quickest drivers will be rewarded with VIP tickets to the 2010 Indianapolis 500 though. The demo can be downloaded from the PSN store and weighs 201mb.
Please note that this new demo does not include most of Gran Turismo 5’s new features such as damage and other improvements. The only major improvement over Gran Turismo 5 Prologue are the physics which represent the quality that can be expected from the full version that is planned to be released in 2010.
