gJED for rFactor 2 – Alpha Version Available

Image Space Incorporated has released an alpha version of their much-anticipated gJED tool that is expect to be a game-changer for rFactor 2 modding.

Image Space Incorporated has released an alpha version of their much-anticipated gJED tool that is expect to be a game-changer for rFactor 2 modding.

gJED is a new mesh & materials property editor for applications based on the studio’s popular gMotor 2 engine. gJED allows for real-time editing of gMotor2 content created by in any content editor which can export FBX files.

The new tool is meant to free content creators from having to work with 3DS max, gJED is a real-time DirectX application that has been built using the same engine and shaders as rFactor 2, offering most of the title’s graphical options.

What you can do with gJED:

??? import/merge FBX files containing mesh, material and animation information
??? load/merge GMT files directly, or SCN/GEN files and their associated GMT files
??? edit mesh and material properties in real time
??? export scene as GMT, SCN, GEN, and ANM files

What you can NOT do with gJED:

??? create meshes or modify vertex locations
??? apply texture mapping to meshes or sub-sections of meshes
??? assign materials to meshes or sub-sections of meshes
