Earlier this month, Fanatec revealed their new line of Forza Motorsport CSR & CSR Elite wheels that also include a CSR shifter & handbrake as well as a new pedal set.
As if as this wasn’t enough, the company has another surprise in store as the newest SRT video from the E3 expo reveals a Fanatec Formula One-type wheel!
Until now, these types of Formula One wheels have been the domain of crafty DIY hardware builders as Fanatec is the first company to professionally produce such a wheel for sim racers.
Based on the short glimpses we get in the video, the wheel features a LC display, leather grips, a rev meter as well as several buttons of various sorts while the backside reveals gear shifting paddles. While the new CSR wheels are marketed in cooperation with Turn 10’s upcoming Forza Motorsport title, the F1 wheel seems to be connected to Codemasters’ as F1 2011 developer Paul Jeal can be seen holding the wheel.
No pricing info is available yet, giving the fact that this looks like a high-tech product the wheel will most likely not be a budget product.??You can check out screen grabs of the wheel below, make sure to watch SRT’s Fanatec video as well (footage of the F1 wheel starts at 17:41).
