Fanatec’s Thomas Jackermeier has revealed some photos, showing the production of the company’s upcoming feature-rich ClubSport Wheel base.
Furthermore, we get to check out a first spy-shot of the GT wheel rim that will join the already-revealed Formula One rim. As Fanatec has announced before, the GT rim is a fully-licensed replica of a real-life GT car steering wheel.
Without seeing the front of the wheel, the guessing games which car it is based on continued. I??ve compared the wheel shape to various GT cars and several models can be ruled out, including the Porsche 911 GT3 R/RSR/Cup, the Audi R8 LMS, the Lamborghini Gallardo and the Ferrari F458 as the wheel shapes don’t match up.
The shape of the wheel and the plate comes very close to the wheel of the BMW M3 GT2 (see here), we don’t have to wait much longer for the answer though as the GT rim is expected to be announced later this month.
For more on the feature-rich ClubSport Wheel base, check out the feature list here. The ClubSport Wheel base will be available in November/December, selling for 450 Euros/Dollars with the additional rims going for 150-300 Euros/Dollars each.
