As speculated here on VirtualR a few days ago, Fanatec has now officially announced a licensing agreement with Microsoft regarding Xbox One compatibility of their racing hardware.
Fanatec plans on releasing a broad range of Xbox One-compatible racing peripherals as well as making their existing product lineup compatible to the next gen console.
While existing wheel’s will be made compatible in combination with a Fanatec wheel base, Xbox 360-compatible peripherals such as pedals, shifters & handbrakes will be made compatible as well, allowing sim racers to carry over their current equipment.
While details on the exact proceedings are still sparse, this is certainly welcome news, giving Xbox One owners plenty of choice when it comes to racing wheels.
