F1 2010 on GameStar TV – Video

Codemasters recently paid a visit to Gamestar, the best selling PC gaming magazine in Germany. The GameStar testers had the chance to test an early Xbox 360 build of F1 2010 for a few hours and the magazine has released the following video, discussing their impressions of the title.

The video is completely in German, I??ve decided it’s worth to be posted though as a large chunk of VirtualR readers speak German and some interesting stuff is being discussed.

The tester comments on the physics saying that it’s too early for him to decide whether or not F1 2010 offers a complete simulation experience. Even though they got to try the simulation mode for a few laps, they did not get the chance to complete a full race with the hardest difficulty settings. The simulation mode is described as “incredibly difficult”, the tester comments on how they got black-flagged after three corner for dangerous overtaking and a caused crash.

Another thing mentioned are setup options, GameStar confirms that the title lets players tweak advanced settings like differential options such as differential, less skilled racers will be able to choose from four pre-set setups. The testers seem to be fairly impressed by the title’s possibilities to interact with the press, another thing that has been mentioned is a match-making system for the title’s multiplayer mode that will ensure that players of similar skill levels are being paired up.

You can watch the full video below, some gameplay scenes of wet-weather racing at Spa Francorchamps are also included.

Following their maiden Formula One title that was released only for the Playstation Portable and the Nintendo Wii, Codemasters will be bringing the 2010 Formula One season to the PC, the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. F1 2010 has been confirmed to be released in September 2010.
