Sector 3 Studios have confirmed a major new content addition to their RaceRoom Racing Experience title as the 2020 DTM cars are poised to join the simulation later this year.
R3E’s most contemporary offer of DTM machinery dates back to the 2016 season, since then Germany’s premier touring car series has undergone quite a few changes as Mercedes Benz has left as manufacturer while the remaining competitors from Audi & BMW have switched from V8 engines to efficient turbo power plants.
The 2020 DTM class might have the sad honor of being the last of the series altogether as Audi has confirmed they’ll be exiting the series after the shortened 2020 season, leaving only BMW as competitor on the grid and putting the future of the long-running series is very serious doubt.
Whatever may happen, the DTM’s final outing will now live on forever in R3E, coming later this year.
