Microsoft’s DirectX 12 was unveiled at this year’s Game Developers Conference, along with a first tech demo from Turn 10.
The Forza Motorsport creators showed a demo of Forza Motorsport 5 running the upcoming DirectX 12. The demo ran on a Nvidia GTX Titan Black PC at 60fps in 1080p resolution.
DirectX 12 will be available both for Windows PCs, Microsoft’s Xbox One as well as phones & tablets.
While DX12 games won’t be available before late 2015 the earliest, the good news is that all DirectX 11 compatible graphics cards will support the new standard, meaning gamers don’t have to buy new hardware to take advantage of the new possibilities.
