It’s 2:00am and that time of the day might just be the time for crazy rumors, and here is one: According to information from an??anonymous??informant over at PretentRaceCars, Turn 10 Studios are working on a deal to take over Italy-based Kunos Simulazioni, creators of Assetto Corsa.
According to the informant, the plan is to put Kunos staff to work on Forza Motorsport 7, the first full-scale Forza title to also be made available on the PC following the Forza Motorsport 6: Apex free to play demo.
The news comes at a time when Kunos’ own console efforts with Assetto Corsa have suffered several delays as the console versions have now been pushed back to??late August.
While this would surely be major news, the “report” should be taken with a giant grain of salt considering that the source of the news??has proven to be??heavily opinion-driven and not always particularly factual in the past. Add the element of anonymous informants to that and the source becomes, well, shaky to say the least.
Still, if true this deal could have major implications for the PC-based sim racing scene and as such it is worthy to be discussed.
Would you welcome this to turn out to be factual? Share your view in the comments below!
Update: The rumors have been officially denied by Kunos.
