Car Control With the Oculus Rift – Video

GamerMuscle has put up a video showing how wearing the Oculus Rift VR headset affects car control.

The Oculus Rift VR headset is one of the hottest topic in the sim racing community right now. Even though the headset is just available as development kit version with reduced resolution as of now, many sim racers have already picked it up and the software-side support is growing as well.

Many users who are on the fence of getting a Rift are wondering how it influences car handling and other aspects of sim racing and GamerMuscle has put up a video trying to answer these questions.

The video below shows off car handling with the Rift, it also briefly highlights another issue of wearing a VR headset which is not being able to find buttons on the keyboard or wheel that easily.

Despite such niggles, most sim racers who have tried the Oculus Rift are convinced of it and the headset may just make three-screen setups obsolete. The full-resolution retail version is scheduled to be released in 2014.
