Audi R15 TDI 1.2 for Need for Speed Shift – Released

Cric has released a new version Audi R15 TDI Le Mans prototype for Slightly Mad Studio’s popular Need for Speed Shift title.

Originally made by Alless for GTR2, the R15 TDI  is included in the title’s Tier 4 category, coming with new physics and sounds made by Kazumi. In order to use the car, you have to unpack your Need for Speed Shift installation. Included in the release are 18 skins painted by various authors.

Introduced in 2009, the R15 is Audi’s second Diesel prototype for the Le Mans 24 Hours. The V10-powered car won its debut outing at the Sebring 12 Hours but failed to match the speed of the Peugeot 908 at Le Mans, making it Audi’s first LMP since the R8 that has not won the 24 hour classic at its first attempt.

The R15 features several revolutionary aerodynamic elements, some of which caused a big controversy in the sports car world as competitors Peugeot and Aston Martin officially protested against the R15’s front bodywork, causing the ACO to change the rules for the 2010 season.
