ChiefWiggum, creator of the great-looking Brabham BT53 for rFactor 2, has started a new side project that should get fans of historic sports car racing very excited: The Alfa Romeo Tipo 33TT12.

The Tipo 33TT12 was Alfa Romeo’s weapon of choice for competition in the World Sports Car Championships starting with the 1973 season. Driven by such legendary drivers as Arturo Merzario, Vittorio Brambilla, Jacques Laffite & Derek Bell, the car finally took World Championship honors in 1975, winning seven out of eight championship rounds.
The open-top prototype was powered by a three-litter V12 boxer engine, providing 500bhp. You can check out a first render of ChiefWiggum’s progress above, below’s a video of the real life car to whet your appetite for this amazing machine.
